Adoption Process
Before coming in to find your new forever companion it is important to understand the PAWS adoption process.
We do take multiple applications on animals and then choose the most suitable home for that particular animal. Please note that filling out an application is not a guarantee of adoption. If you have questions regarding our adoption process please feel free to contact us at any time.
Adoption Fees are as follows (subject to change):
Already Spayed/Neutered Cats and Dogs: $100.00 Price includes all vaccines, blood tests, deworming, and microchip
NOTE: This means the animal comes to the shelter already fixed.
Intact Kittens and Puppies (under 6 months old): $140.00 Price includes all vaccines, blood tests, deworming, and microchip
All Animals We Have Fixed (over 6 months old): $175.00 Price includes Spay/Neuter surgery, all vaccines, blood tests, deworming, and microchip

Step by Step of the Adoption Process
· First come in and meet our PAWS animals and find the perfect match for you and your family.
· If you make a match you then fill out an adoption application. The application is not a guarantee of adoption. It can take from 0 to 7 days to process your application. We will be contacting you once your application process is complete.
· If approved you then come in and pick up your new pet, and at that time you will fill out a foster care agreement. Your animal will still belong to the PAWS family for 2 weeks time so you can make sure it is the perfect fit. During this time PAWS will provide any emergency vet care that is needed.
· After your 2 week Foster Period, you will come into PAWS to sign the adoption agreement and finalize the adoption. At this time you will pay the adoption fee.
· Once your adoption is complete you will need to take the copy of your adoption agreement to the Yokosuka Veterinary Office in order to transfer ownership of your new pet from PAWS into your name.
