Adopt Two Kittens! – Meet Tahiti and Fiji – Update

We have two kittens at the shelter who have tested positive for a disease that is contagious with other cats (not dogs or people). Still, they can potentially live normal and happy lives. At this point we don’t even know for sure if they actually have it. We want them to go to a home together, with a family that will take the best care of them. Pictures are coming soon. They have FIV, which is similar to FeLV but different.

Kittens born to an FIV positive mother can show positive blood results for up to six months without actually being positive themselves. It is hard for this disease to be passed from an infected mother to kittens. These guys are only three months old, so even a temporary home for a few months would be great! Living in a tiny quarantine cage is no life for a kitten and they deserve better. Will you help us? If you do decide to adopt these two, we will give you a special discount on their adoption fees.

please email us for more information.

Have you checked out ARK?

Our shelter is small so we don’t get puppies very often, and overall we can only have a small number of animals. However, this doesn’t mean you need to pay thousands of dollars for an animal from off base. Check out Tokyo Ark, a branch of Animal Rescue Kansai (ARK). They have puppies, as well as a much larger selection of dogs that are looking for foster and forever homes. Of course they also have kittens, cats, and the occasional silver fox.

The photo below is of Ginja, a silver fox that needs sponsoring. She lives at ARK’s main compound, near Osaka.

We often work with ARK– when they have animals that need to try a new location, we take them, etc.

If you are looking to rescue an animal, or foster, ARK is another fantastic place to look.
